Description

This Infrared thermometer is a thermometer which infers temperature from a portion of the thermal radiation sometimes called black-body radiation emitted by the object being measured. The primary use of an Infrared thermometer is in measuring the temperature of a subject from a distance. In the SMART SENSOR Infrared Thermometer (AS550) most basic design consists of a lens to focus the infrared (IR) energy on to a detector, which converts the energy to an electrical signal that can be displayed in units of temperature after being compensated for ambient temperature variation.
