Description

The most basic architecture of the SMART SENSOR Infrared Thermometer (AS862A) uses a lens to concentrate infrared (IR) energy onto a detector, which then transforms the energy into an electrical signal that may be displayed in temperature units after being adjusted for variations in the surrounding air temperature. In situations when traditional sensors cannot be used, infrared thermometers enable users to monitor temperature. In particular, when dealing with moving objects (such as rollers, moving machinery, or conveyor belts), when non-contact measurements are necessary due to contamination or dangerous factors (like high voltage), when the distances are too large, or when the temperatures to be measured are too high for thermocouples or other contact sensors.
