Drive your brushless motors with precision using this 30A Electronic Motor Speed Controller (ESC). Designed for reliability and ease of use, this module is the standard choice for powering small-to-medium RC aircraft, including quadcopters, fixed-wing planes, and helicopters.
It features a built-in BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit), which regulates your high-voltage battery down to 5V to power your receiver and servos, eliminating the need for a separate battery pack. Compatible with 2S to 3S LiPo batteries, this ESC is widely used with popular brushless motors like the A2212 (1000KV/1400KV/2200KV) series.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Safety Arming Feature: The motor will not start immediately when the battery is connected, preventing accidental injury. The throttle stick must be in the bottom position to arm.
-
Built-in BEC (Linear): Provides a stable 5V / 2A output to power your receiver, flight controller, and servos directly from the main flight battery.
-
Multiple Protection Features:
-
Low Voltage Cutoff: Prevents over-discharging your LiPo battery.
-
Over-Heat Protection: Reduces power if the ESC gets too hot.
-
Throttle Signal Loss Protection: Shuts down the motor if the radio signal is lost.
-
-
Smooth Control: Offers linear and smooth throttle response, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced pilots.
-
High Burst Current: Capable of handling burst currents up to 40A for 10 seconds, providing extra punch during take-offs or maneuvers.

Wiring & Pinout Guide
This ESC has three distinct sets of wires. Correct wiring is crucial to avoid damage.
-
Power Input (Thick Red & Black Wires):
-
Red: Connect to Battery Positive (+).
-
Black: Connect to Battery Negative (-).
-
Note: Ensure you solder a compatible connector (e.g., XT60 or Deans) matching your battery.
-
-
Motor Output (3x Blue Wires):
-
Connect these three wires to the three wires of your brushless motor.
-
Tip: The order does not matter initially. If the motor spins in the wrong direction, simply swap any two of these three wires.
-
-
Control Signal (3-Pin Servo Connector):
-
White/Orange: Signal (PWM from Receiver/Microcontroller).
-
Red: 5V Output (Powers the receiver).
-
Black/Brown: Ground.
-
How ESC 30A Motor Speed Controller Works
Unlike brushed motors, brushless motors require a 3-phase AC signal to rotate.
-
The ESC takes DC power from your LiPo battery.
-
It reads the throttle signal (PWM) from your receiver or Arduino.
-
It rapidly switches the power to the three blue wires in a specific sequence, creating a rotating magnetic field that drives the motor. The speed of this switching determines the motor’s RPM.
